From Justice Katju to Ramdev, 5 prominent Indians who denounced homosexuality

Former Supreme Court Justice Markandey Katju, who once called 90 per cent of Indians “idiots”, has termed gay relationships and marriage as ‘humbug’ and ‘nonsense’, as they couldn’t conceive and fulfil the primary goal of a relationship, namely procreation.

"Nowadays many so called 'modern' people are demanding legalizing gay relationships and gay marriages in India. To my mind it is all humbug and nonsense," he wrote in his blog on Friday.

It is not the first time when a prominent Indian has denounced homosexuality. From Ghulam Nabi Azad to Baba Ramdev, today we bring you five such controversial statements made by Indian personages.
