Is demand by religious groups to ban Aamir's film ‘PK’ regressive?

Shankaracharya of Jyotish and Dwaraka-Sharda peeth Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati has asked Bollywood actor Aamir Khan to remove controversial scenes from his latest film ‘PK’ saying that it ridicules the Hindu deities, its rituals, preachers of the religion and questions the existence of God.

The Shankaracharya has threatened that to call for complete boycott of the actor if he refused to remove the controversial scenes from the movie.

According to the spiritual leader and some other Hindu groups, the movie makes fun of Hindu rituals like offering milk on Shivling, giving part of our meal to cow and others.
