Indore: It is surely an unusual sight—girl on a horse, dressed in
best bridal finery. Vishakha, resident of Vanita Vishwa Bhawan at
Police Line, attracted a lot of attention as passersby stopped to see
the beautiful bride. She belongs to Maharashtrian community in Indore
which carries out such a procession before the marriage ceremony. It is a
traditional ritual which is to tell everyone that she will be married
off soon.
The procession passed through many streets. After an hour long
procession and dancing on the streets, she came back home with her
relatives.
